Circle of Ash Back Once Again!

As the month of October starts coming to an end, the coffins, fake blood, and skeletons slowly start making their way out into front yards.
Well along with the decorations and costumes, Halloween inspired attractions have started popping back up again.

Circle of Ash is one of those attractions, now open again, better than ever.
What once started as a “Home Haunt” in the garage of Chad Canfield’s house, is now a full out haunted attraction, spread out over 6 acres of land! In 2010 Circle of Ash was first born and has been back every year since, continuing to expand with even bigger and better features.

Circle of Ash has six attractions, and they are definitely not for the faint of heart. Their first attraction, Circle of Ash, involves the house of a girl named Molly. With both indoor and outdoor scares, this attraction will leave you terrified.

Their next attraction, Frightmare Forest, is exactly as you would imagine. A haunted forest with creatures lurking behind every corner. Be ready to navigate through the darkness and find your way out.

Pandemonium, their third attraction, is not for those with a fear the circus. In this haunted maze, don’t expect any help from the colored-faced clowns taunting you at every turn.

There’s plenty more attractions where that came from, so make sure to bring your a-game when you enter.

For general admission to the scream park, which includes all the three attractions mentioned, ticket prices are 20 dollars. But, if you are interested in skipping long lines you can purchase a fast pass, which is only 15 dollars more.
Halloween Homicide, their forth attraction, is a group activity where you visit a forgotten town, known as Crow Creek. For only 10 dollars, you and your friends work together to solve a murder made to look like a suicide. With a packet given to your group, you walk around the town looking for answers to the ever so strange incident and record your findings.

Another cool aspect to Circle of Ash is their Cursed Escape Room. You and seven other people are on a mission to find out what happened to the missing Norman Goemaat. But, on your journey you happen to get locked in his secret room. With only 45 minutes to escape, can you and your friends crack the code and find freedom once more? Tickets run 15 dollars a person, and there are eight tickets sold per time slot.

Circle of Ash’s last attraction is the Journeys End Coffin Ride. For just five dollars a person, you get to ride around in a coffin, and experience what an actual funeral and burial would feel like.Tickets for this ride are first come first serve.

  1. There are a lot of exclamation points... and also there are some wording issues . But these are minor things and can easily be fixed! Good Job!

  2. Kourtney--there's a lot of energy in your piece. Now you need to make sure you've channeled it appropriately.

    Great:
    -timely and relevant
-gives lots of important info and a bit of background

    Next Steps:
    - exclamation points are pretty much a no-no in the journalism world except maybe for an op ed--let your words build that emotion, not the punctuation
-organization--you bounce around. Keep your focus by saving the escape room for another piece and make sure each paragraph builds on the previous
-keep it concise--cut this bad boy down. You don't need a description for each house when an overview can do it.

  3. This was very fun to read and was full of energy. I thought that the opening sentences were really good, and made me want to read more. However, the were probably too many exclamation points, and some wording issues, but all in all I thought it was well done.

  4. I feel like this is more of an advertisement than a news story. You may want to try a little more description of the scares and a little less about pricing and hours. However, I respect that you want to leave the excitement mostly a surprise, so you can't recount every detail of an attraction.

  5. I really liked the topic of this, Halloween is something tons of people are interested in so I feel like this could draw a large amount of people in. The piece was definitely full of energy, getting rid of a few of the exclamation points could tone it down just a bit. I also noticed an issue or two in the wording but it can be easily fixed. Good job!

  6. I liked the topic and its very relevant. There was lots of energy, and explanation points... I think you could have moved the paragraph about admission to go above the times it is open. Overall great job!

  7. I think this article is okay, but you definitely need to fix the spacing and pacing. Most paragraphs are only 1-2 sentences and it could be much better if you talked about less things in greater amounts.

The Journey's End coffin ride sounds pretty fun to me :D

  8. I would agree with Taylor. I didn't really see your focus and it mainly felt like you were trying to promote the place compared to writing a story about it. However, it was relevant and contained good and helpful info. Nice job.
